***New event alert*** 2 Rivers Backyard Ultra - Echuca May 17, 2025
Unlike 2024, we will be running 4 events across various months of the year, including winter. These events will work around GV Last Man Standing in September, as well as our BRAND NEW event, 2 Rivers Backyard Ultra in Echuca in May.
After discovering some great courses in 2024, we are excited to bring you 2 opportunities to compete in a Bendigo event in 2025. We will also bring back the monotonous, but surprisingly enjoyable Everton Rail Trail event.
For the first time, we will be running a trial series event right here in the GV, on the GV LMS course! Runners can come and run 8 hours of the popular course and get an idea of their plans before coming along to the big dance in September.
Uncapped, or even 24 hour events can be daunting for those that don't know much about the format, or are new to running. The 8 hour event allows for runners to come and try the format at a low cost, and maybe push through to an ultra. (6.72km x 8 = 53.76km)
Spending heaps of money on something you aren't sure of is never fun; and with a shorter event comes the ability to make each event cheaper than a marathon, and a great opportunity for training runs if you're already entered into on of our major events, GV Last Man Standing or 2 Rivers Backyard Ultra.
Whether you decide to run one, or all four of the events in the series; each runner will accumulate series points based on their completed laps. Those with the highest accumulated points will be awarded our very own 'golden ticket' into GV Last Man Standing in September.
**In the event of a points draw, the winner will be selected out of a draw**
Even with a condensed format, we will still provide all the aid station bits you have come to love. Lollies, Fruit, Water, Tailwind Nutrition Endurance Fuel, and more.
Each runner will also be timed to record lap times and laps completed.
As these are capped time events, they are not affiliated with the International Backyard Ultra format, however all standard backyard ultra rules will apply. The only rules that will vary will be the starting corale and the aid. Bring your kids in the pram, dogs on a leash, they're all welcome.
Note: We have made this event as affordable as possible, and are happy to have others running with you. However, only fee paying runners will be entitled to the aid station goodies and timing.
For the first time, in 2025, we are offering you the opportunity to commit early to the entire series of trial events. This can be done by following the 'whole series registration' link below. Registering for the whole series gives a small discount on an already great price.
